The segregation of the actual signs of the Lord’s coming was really an eye-opener. Currently preachers are talking about the earthquakes and the pandemic as a sign of the Lord’s coming. One preacher even gave statistics regarding increase of earthquakes over a period of one year! This increase was spoken of as a sign of the Lord’s coming.

The first sign of Gospel being preached to the ends of the earth cannot be identified as rightly pointed out. But we know that ALL have not heard yet. So the first sign is yet to be fulfilled. The third sign of cosmic destruction is easy to understand.

I have confusion over the second sign only.

In the second sign two things are mentioned : 1. Great distress and 2. The abomination that causes desolation standing in the holy place. I believe we have not yet entered the great distress phase. We hear of persecution around the globe but it has been so for 2000 years. The Temple at Jerusalem has still not been built. Only then can we expect to see the abomination of desolation can be seen in the Holy place.

My question is, should we watch for the physical Temple to be built in Jerusalem before the Lord returns?

    Dear brother Suryakumar
Glad to know of your heritage and Godly bringing-up.
Many children from Pastor’s family do not actually get saved
due to many reasons. But I thank God that He found you in your teens and has been using you since then.
    All glory to God.

    Dear sister Tamilarasi
You are absolutely right in saying Jesus can be trusted.
In fact only Jesus can be trusted to carry us through even in the midst of trials and temptations.
As sister Lavanya has pointed out, it is God who gives us the grace to be faithful to Him.
So let us all trust Him and Him alone

I really feel loved knowing that Jesus is coming back just for me.
The Bible says our bodies will be glorified like Jesus.
So I assume they will be spirit bodies but recognizable,
that is my resurrected body will look like me.
Apart from that I don’t know what to say.
I will spend eternity with Jesus and will be saved from
hellfire because Jesus paid it all.
We will be finally saved from the presence of sin.

    Dear brother Lee,
I cannot agree with you more….
Yes the day we die, our race will be over and will be in God’s presence.
But the signs and some other details of the second coming is part of the Bible.
That means God has given it to us to read and understand , if possible.
If it was not needed God would not have given it to us.
That is why I want to understand it.
I do not think we are the generation of the Lord’s coming.
So we should only die and meet Him!
    Everything is not understandable.
Let us try with the help of the Holy Spirit.

    Dear brother Lee,
    I entirely agree with you.
What is important is living everyday like it is our last day on earth.
We may not be the generation of the Lord’s coming after all
and we amy be called home before the Lord comes!
Yes. We have to try to understand because it is in the Bible.
    That is all.
May the Lord bless our efforts

    Dear Sister Lavanya,
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words.
I believe the problems we see in the Christian community is due to lack of knowledge – knowledge of the Word of God. Without knowing what God requires of us, it is impossible to obey.
When people only listen to preachers, they get only man made laws and not what God wants.
Every believer should desire to study and understand the Bible.
    That is my opinion.
    Thank you once again.

    Dear brother Premkumar
Sometime back facing death was a scary thought.
But the Lord patiently taught me something.
The pointed out the example of martyr Stephen. When he was stoned and killed,
the Lord Jesus received Stephen to be with him.
If the Lord comes now, we will be caught up in mid with the Lord Jesus.
In case He tarries, and we are called home, when we close our eyes here, we will
open our eyes in the presence of Jesus. And that took away all my fears!
Being with Jesus in the hereafter is everything for me.

When I think of Jesus’ promise of coming back to take me to be with Him, I feel very loved. That is my hope. John 14: 2 says, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (NKJV). Until recently I was under the impression that I will have a mansion of my own. May be a small one while Paul, the apostle, may have a big one. When I read John’s gospel this time, I understood that there will be many mansions but God is preparing a ‘place’ for each one and it may not be a mansion! Wherever Jesus is there will I also be and that knowledge is enough for me! I cannot ask for anything more!

I was brought up in an ordinary Christian home where I memorized some Psalms and attended Sunday school. My father worked for Neyveli Lignite Corporation and used to preach in the church regularly. When I was sent to Holy Cross College for studying, I was away from home and felt very homesick. I used to attend the evening prayer regularly and I slowly came to depend on God for survival. I cannot pinpoint a day and a time for accepting Jesus as my Saviour. It was a gradual process. I could see the difference because I started reading the Bible with a desire to know what is in it. That’s how my relationship with the Lord started.

Life is full of challenges and by the immense grace of God, the challenges and the pain drove me to Jesus and not away from Him. I thank my God for drawing me closer to Him. He was my shelter and support all through those years and day by day, I grew in the Lord. I can now confidently say that the purpose of the first coming of Jesus has been fulfilled in my Life!
