I agree with you when you say that in this fallen world, we have to work with the talents God has given us to accomplish His purpose. For some God has given 5 talents and 2 talents. For some of us like me, it can be just 1 talent. But I am called to use it not bury it. That is where we need God’s help. The devil wants us to bury it and do nothing. But we have to be overcomers and accomplish God’s purpose for our lives as long as we live.

The concept of the Emmanuel God making us His co-workers just captures the essence of our work in this age. God has enabled us and filled us with the Holy Spirit to be able to do that. We have to carefully guard our lives so that satan will not distract us from that very purpose. You have rightly pointed out that the “Foretaste of heaven’ is the privilege of believing servants”. We are living at an amazing time when we can enjoy the benefits of the Kingdom amidst the problems caused by the satanic activities. The Bible says in Ezekiel 38:7, “Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them.” Ezekiel’s ministry was to the remnant in exile teaching them individual and corporate responsibility for sin. He encouraged the proper worship of the true God which would lead to moral behavior and blessings. The mandate of the Church during this period is similar to what Ezekiel did long ago. The church is called to teach and equip the people of God to be overcomers.

Personally, I am thankful to God for the indwelling Holy Spirit and the whole armour of God which can help me stand against the wiles of the devil because our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age (Ephesians 6:11-19). Every minute of every day I have to be careful in following Christ since the devil can come as an angel light to take us away from the right path.
