I was born in Chennai and grew up in a regular Church attending family. I went to Sunday school regularly. I learnt scriptures diligently and always used to enjoy the faith stories of my grandmother who was indirectly planting seeds in my heart to meet Jesus. Her faith walks and stories really inspired me and I reached a point and desired to see Jesus. One night he appeared in a dream and I was really scared to see the brightness as I was just 8 years old.
I did not continue to grow after a while. During a VBS time, I gave my life to Jesus and was so intimate with Him. Then again, drifted away I did not truly understand the commitment of giving my life to Jesus. However, Jesus had used these experiences as a seed bed for me.
After my student days, when I was 18 I had to leave Chennai to pursue Engineering out of Chennai. I have to leave my friends, family and relatives. I was quite disturbed and this affected my studies. This dry season, brought me to a place of crisis.
During a worship time during a Sunday service at college, I gave my life to Jesus. I can still remember that day – 4th Jan 1994. Subsequently, during my daily reading God started speaking to me through His word. I was way behind in my studies, but God promised me to bless my latter end Job8:7. This gave me hope and I successfully completed my engineering.
After this, God slowly started using me in youth ministry. On the professional front I was involved in building churches, mission schools and residential buildings. To the glory to God I have designed 60+ churches, four residential buildings, two mission buildings and large halls for the Methodist.
God has taken me to places and placed me for a season to be as salt and light. Sometimes these are humbling experiences and I continue to remain in Him for His glory. The last few years I have had health setbacks. I am grateful to God for extending my life. Six months ago, I had a near death experience. I am eager to learn more from His word and share the same with others as I time is very short for everyone.
I have come to realize that time is the richest commodity and one should learn to use this wisely.
Hi Everyone,
This is Solomon Charles. I live in the Netherlands with my wife and two children. I work here as Project Lead Engineer. During weekends I involve in small groups where I lead worship or share Gods word as He leads. I joined this course through an acquaintance and keen on learning with the help of the Holy Spirit. I am sure I will be able to gain knowledge and wisdom and share the same with those outside this community. Thanks!
