Dear Lavanya, I agree with you. Nothing captures the listener’s attention as a personal testimony. As you narrate your story of conversion and encourage the listener too to try Jesus, it has a tremendous effect. God bless.
Yes Ajit Moses, the church is one of the best institutions to propagate the gospel. But sadly, the present church, either the main line church or the independent church has pushed evangelism to the back seat. This should be changed.
I am very much involved in UESI ministries, which is ministering to the post-matric students in our country. As a senior, I keep my home open and students studying in the nearby Loyola college come to our home for a time of Bible study and fellowship every week. The boys bring along with them some non Christians too. Good news is shared with them and as per the leading of the Holy Spirit these boys are taken to retreats and camps organized by UESI and slowly they grow. In the course of their 3-year study we find them blossoming into disciples and then as leaders to Lord’s glory.
To speed up the first sign of the coming of our Lord, we have to take special efforts to propagate the gospel. The church has to play an important part in this. Apart from the ordained pastors, the congregation should be encouraged to involve in evangelism. Each one is a minister in his work place or where he studies. By maintaining impeccable witness in the places we work, we can promote the gospel. Actions speak louder than words. Engaging ourselves in Personal Evangelism is the best and cost free means of spreading the gospel. Every one should be taught the crux of the gospel and the model the evangelist Philip who shared the good news to the Eunuch should be scrupulously followed. You are right Arul Sam Dilip, we have to be alert and prepared to stand before the Judgment Seat of the Lord. We have to give accounts of all our commissions and omissions to the Judge and receive our rewards. This should be an incentive to be prepared our Lord. Let us concentrate on this aspect rather than unnecessarily breaking our heads on other signs.
Yes Lavanya, the duel prophecy is worth enjoying — the birth of our Lord and the abomination that causes destruction. Prophecies are being fulfilled rather quickly and such things only urge us to be prepared to meet the Lord.
The study of the Second Coming of our Lord is very interesting. The timing of His return is known to none, even to the Son. When the Bible is crystal clear about this, it is sheer audacity for some to fix the date of His Second Coming. Eventually they were proved stupid and licked the dust.
Secondly, the Bible is clear about the signs before His arrival. These signs have been given to us to warn us and keep us on our toes. The three signs should be an incentive for us to meet our Saviour any time. Neither any one of the three signs nor all the three signs need necessarily happen during our life time. The fact of the matter is the end is close at hand. When we breathe our last, it is the beginning of the Second Coming. When we die, time ceases to exist for the corpse. The corpse is awakened at the sound of the trumpet and we are to stand before the Judgment Seat of our Lord. Simultaneously those living will also join those who are raised from the dead. The point is we, the ones living in the present, need not wait for the all the three signs to happen. We may meet the Lord even before the three signs are fulfilled. So the watch-word is “Be Prepared” to meet the Lord any time. Let us not miss the bus like the foolish virgins.Yes, PKD Lee once saved and once we have the assurance of salvation our lives on this earth is a heaven on earth.
Yes Hephzibah Stephen, the relief of escaping the hell fire is very great. Imagine being barbecued 24×7 eternally … that escape is one of the greatest blessings we are going to experience. On the contrary, we will be in the presence of our Lord 24×7 singing praises of Him and serving Him eternally. What a privilege!
It gives me great excitement that our Lord is coming specifically to take me to His eternal Kingdom. What a privilege! What a blessing! This blessing surpasses all the worldly blessing which we mortals once craved for. Moreover, the penalty and punishment for my sin are taken away. Though I am liberated, the presence of sins haunts me of and on, but the Spirit of God helps me to fight it out. How well my Lord will appreciate my works and what rewards are waiting for me — are some of the longings that keep my excitement alive. As I am a child of God, I will escape the divine judgment. The thought of wearing the dresses of immortality gives additional thrill. Above all meeting the Lord face to face towers all other excitement.
Dear Suresh, it is going to be a great memorable day to meet Jesus face to face. We should be excited to receive a warm welcome from Him and the receive rewards from Him. Let us strive to receive a good certificate from Him — “faithful and wonderful servant, I commend you, come and partake in the joy which I have kept in store for you”.
Yes Hepzibah Stephen, the Second Coming is not far off. As soon as we die, we lose all concept of time. We are buried and time passes on … months, years, decades and so on, but we are blissfully unaware of all these things sleeping in the graves. Suddenly, the trumpet is heard and graves open and we rise from the graves and meet the Lord face to face. So we will not at all be conscious of the time between our death and our being raised from the dead. That period of time is completely blotted from the dead bodies, dead people are not aware of time. So the reality is we close our eyes in this world and the next moment we open our eyes and meet our Lord face to face. Living people are aware of the time, but not the dead. What a glorious Governor and Planner our Lord is!!!
Excited about the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus — Yes, certainly. Excited about to have a glimpse of the Eternal Kingdom. Excited to be in the presence of my Lord and Saviour. The first thing I would do is to fall at the Lord’s feet and thank Him for his unparalleled love by dying for me. Excited to see my loved ones, meet the Bible heroes of IT times and NT times. Excited to have a chat with all these stalwarts. Will ask Moses how he felt when he was in the middle of the Red Sea! Excited to have all my doubts cleared from out Lord.
Excited to see my parents, loved one who have already left for the heavenly abode, meet them face to face, hug them, embrace them . . .
Don’t say that I am talking like a child . . . a childish blabber . . . it’s all going to be true on that exciting day when we all meet HIM face to face.Dear Mohan Sunder, Our Lord God is a God of variety. He meets people in a variety of ways. I am excited to know the way in which the Lord met you. Living without falling a victim to the corrupt way around you is a fine testimony of a saved person like you. Many people stumble in this area but He has sustained you till now. Praise God.
Hello Suresh, nice to hear about your encounter with God. Yes only His grace sustains us and we grow into spiritual maturity only because of His grace. His grace is sufficient for us in every situation.
Coming from a traditional Christian family, there was no dearth of Christian principles, teachings and related things in my life. Our Lord was speaking to me specifically about my life. But I was procrastinating my surrender as my attachment to my friends was more. In one of the youth fellowship meetings I made a commitment. But there was not growth — back sliding and returning to the fold were regular features. After my marriage, there was some steady growth but the final nail was hit in one of the Conferences of Union of Evangelical Students of Tamil Nadu that the Lord dealt with me specifically and from then on there was not turning back, by God’s immense grace and protection. By His grace, for the past 42 years, I have been living my life to the full.
